Beautiful shot, Frank, and a real good definition of "strange" - you didn't happen to check out the AARP rate for a night, did you? Well known icon in NYC, I think 23rd St and 8th?
Frank Winters replied:
Thanks Steve. Don't remember if I got a discount -- I did get the cheapest room they had -- about $215.00. Its located between 7 & 8th ave on 23rd street. But I am worried about the renovations underway -- its closed now and under new management. It will never be the same.

hi Frank, very interesting photo. Would love to know what are those 2 strange looking items coming down from the ceiling? Looks like legs.
Frank Winters replied:
Hi Diana, Thanks for your comment. The Chelsea hotel is famous for being artistic and hosting creative types -- Warhol, Maplethorpe, Dylan (both Bob and Thomas) etc. So it is decorated with art, art, art. The legs are from a sculpture hanging -- I think as a trapeze artist or some such -- from the ceiling. Don't think I got any with the whole thing in. ;^)
