"This world we live in is but thickened light." Emerson Quotidian, liminal, transcendent; these are states I see in the world as my perception and the light vacillates. Light has the power to give the quotidian transcendent properties. As the process proceeds I act in liminal space. In my photography I use light to cast the ordinary in extraordinary terms. When light is unusually focused, or especially diffused, or particularly brilliant I pounce. It is a process of triangulation; object(s), geometry, light; when these three factors converge. Frank, this is such a great street photo. Even in all the splendor of Millennium Park, there is still an underlying social problem of homelessness. Well composed and captured.
Frank Winters replied:
Thanks Betty. Out for an early morning walk with just my iPhone. It was the perfect tool for the job. No one should need to love on the street....

Really fantastic shot Frank ! I imagined on the right bench the lower half of the sleeper, and on the left one the upper half....but that would have been too good to be true :))))
Frank Winters replied:
Thanks Michel -- If I painted perhaps I could make such a change. But glad you like it as is. ;^)

Love this Frank. I can see why it was accepted into the Art Foundation Of Cape Cod. I wish I could see it in person. Oh well! It is nice to see it here. l/fav

Your stunning photo says so much, Frank. Such pathos. Even the man in the Crown Fountain seems to feel sad. f/l
Frank Winters replied:
Thanks Ann. Yes -- sometimes the stars aline, but sad, sad, sad.
