The jetty on the mainland side of the Cape Cod canal in the Scusett Beach State park. Sand is plied up against it because the jetty blocks it as designed by the Army Corp Of Engineers. The sand is prevented from entering the canal but as a bad side effect the jetty prevents the sand from replenishing the beaches in Sandwich. As a result the Sandwich beaches are eroded threatening the marsh beyond and the town of sandwich itself as well.
