Artist's Description

Christo and Jeanne-Claude's installation of The Gates in New York's central park in 2005 was spactacular. Here the gates go over the Gapstow Bridge. There were 7,500 gates lining virtually every walk way in the park. This public art installation drew thousands of people even on a cold February weekend.
One aspect of this image is the domante buds that have the same color as the Gates themselves. Were they paying homage to the art work -- yes I think nature was bowing its head.

"This world we live in is but thickened light." Emerson Quotidian, liminal, transcendent; these are states I see in the world as my perception and the light vacillates. Light has the power to give the quotidian transcendent properties. As the process proceeds I act in liminal space. In my photography I use light to cast the ordinary in extraordinary terms. When light is unusually focused, or especially diffused, or particularly brilliant I pounce. It is a process of triangulation; object(s), geometry, light; when these three factors converge.
